Nicolas has over ten years of professional experience in emerging markets working at the nexus of innovation, high technology, government, industry and civil society. He is currently Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. His work focuses on civic technologies, social innovation and digital empowerment. At the Kennedy School, Nicolas is also Visiting Research Fellow in the Program on Science, Technology and Society where his research centers on better understanding the transformative power of converging technosciences and the way it radically changes the way we live, work and socialize. Before coming to Harvard, Nicolas was Regional Director South Asia at Safran Sagem, the world leader in aerospace, defense and security. A recognized strategist and thought-leader, Nicolas started “Sisyphos” in 2009: a non-profit network of practitioners and citizens working on building bridges between India and Europe to better understand and harness wisely the transformational potential of converging NBIC technosciences. In 2012, he co-convened, “People for Global Transformation”: a non-profit interdisciplinary think-and-do organization which gathers fifteen global leaders and advises municipal stakeholders on delivering sustainable, inclusive and intelligent urban development, especially in challenging contexts. An Arthur Sachs Scholar, Nicolas holds a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and is the Co-founder of “The Future Society at HKS.” He also holds a Master in Geostrategy and Industrial Dynamics from Pantheon-Assas University in Paris and a BA in Political Sciences from Sciences Po Strasbourg.
